Three old friends find their bonds put to the test when one of their group, Serge, buys a very expensive white canvas painting with three white lines drawn across it. One of Serge's closest friends, Marc, is horrified by the seemingly tasteless acquisition, while another, Ivan, tries desperately to soothe the conflict growing among the group. Lines are drawn as the three friends square off over the canvas, using it as an excuse to relentlessly batter one another over various failures. As their arguments become less theoretical and more personal, they border on destroying their friendships.
